Founded as a grassroots queer techno party in Manila and first taking shape at XX:XX Makati, Elephant was organized by a collective of LGBTQIA+ artists, DJs, activists, and performers. As Assi became more involved, they moved into the roles of Visual Director, Co-Organizer, and Resident DJ, using the party as a space to experiment with how a nightlife identity could look, feel, and evolve.
Drawing from queer culture and the visual language of club ephemera, Assi expanded Elephant’s visual system into something playful, unruly, and recognizably its own. The project became a formative ground for exploring how image-making, music, and nightlife could operate together.
